Biography
Hi, my name is Grant Mollett, and I am one of the founding members of Central Florida 5Klub. As a former high school boys and girls cross country coach and former cross country and track runner in high school, I decided to get back into running in late 2007. Inspired by one of my best friends, Matt, and my own pure enjoyment of running, I decided to commit myself to running again. I had gained nearly 60 lbs since high school, and though for a few years after high school I continued to run, the last few years I had completely stopped running. Now, with a group of friends in this club, I am trying to rekindle my love for running, my desire to get better, my will to be in shape, and my enjoyment of big breakfasts after charitable 5ks on Saturday mornings.
*Update: In 2016 I have started coaching girls cross country again.
Goals
Lifestyle goals for me include getting into better shape, losing some of my unwanted gut, getting physically stronger, and eating better.
I have a few running goals for 2018. First, I would like to set a PR for my 5K, and break 24 minutes! Second, I would like to set PRs in the half marathon, 12K, and 10K this year.
Accomplishments
In high school, when I ran varsity cross country, I could run the 3-mile course in the low 19-minute range. After high school, I competed in a few 5Ks, in which I finished some in under 20 minutes. Since I've returned to running in late 2007, here are some of my accomplishments.
